'Operation Muerta Negra' reveals heroin ring led by Jovita’s owner

Story Summary:
A total of 18 people have been arrested in a heroin drug ring, led by Jovita's owner Amado Pardo. The year-long, multi-agency investigation, dubbed "Operation Muerta Negra," or "Black Death," yielded 15 federal indictments, along with $1.5 million worth of property and $38,000 in cash during an early morning raid Thursday. The organized drug ring also carries connections to the Texas Syndicate prison gang, and Armado Pardo himself has two prior murder convictions.
