During a meeting at the State Capitol Thursday the Texas Ethics Commission asked lawmakers for more money to do its job. Commissioners said they lack resources to effectively carry out their mission--keeping watch over elected officials and lobbyists when it comes to election law. The eight-person panel also stressed it is not seeking to take ethics investigation authority away from Travis County.
