Running, biking and swimming – triathletes made their way through the Capital City Sunday.

The Capital of Texas Triathlon (Cap Tex Tri) is an annual event, and this year was named the 2008 National Age Group Championship Qualifier.

The event included a run and bike ride around the City of Austin and a swim in Lady Bird Lake.

Many competitors train for months to participate in the event.

Last year's weather put a damper on many of the athletes' goals, but Mother Nature cooperated whole-heartedly this year and even gave participants a welcome reason to jump in the lake.
