Outside the Gym: Bosu might be for you
News 8's new fitness segment features exercises anybody can do in an environment other than the gym.
Trainer Ryan Nail shares a workout using a half-ball called the "Bosu." (Watch the video for step-by-step instructions.)
Nail is the owner of Core Fit Training and he uses the Bosu in training frequently.
"The Bosu is a half rounded ball filled with air that brings stability and agility to the whole body whenever you use the Bosu," he said.
Nail said it's important to lean all the way back when using the Bosu for sit ups, to get a full extension out of your abdominal muscles.

You can also stand after doing the full sit up to incorporate your legs.
"You've got to use the momentum of the crunch to come to the feet and drive up through the heels," he said. "That way you get your abs and your legs."
Another exercise is balancing on the Bosu in the pushup position.
Nail explained during the exercise: "I'm in the pushup position and on an uneven surface," he said. "What I'm going to do is drive my core with my knees up to the top, balance, drive high, go back into it, come back, drive it up, squat high."
He said driving up your legs uses major stability throughout the whole body.
