Soigne Boutique heats up the runway
Austin Fashion Week hit its halfway mark Wednesday, but the celebrations are not slowing down.
Soigne Boutique on Burnet Road offered sushi from Kenichi, drinks from Cover 3, and a great fashion show filled with cute summer outfits for every occasion Wednesday night.
"I've really tried to focus again on staying very local," Soigne Boutique owner Amy Schalk said. "I have a lot of local designers, which is fantastic.
"I have tried to keep my price points very reasonable. That was a big thing when I opened. I wanted to be very trendy, yet affordable,"

Schalk has teamed up with local jewelry designer
Tracy Tenpenny, whose fresh designs will be in the store during and after Austin Fashion Week.
Tenpenny studied interior architecture for school and has put that inspiration into making her jewelry.
Her necklaces are made of light gold chains mixed with semi-precious stones and pearls. You can also layer her many
beautiful pieces.
"It's all about layering as well," Tenpenny said. "Taking a simple piece, and then you never have to retire your girls from anything you've purchased in the past. You just get to layer it, and celebrate it."
There are numerous events going on this week during Austin Fashion Week.
The weekend wraps up on Sunday with the Austin Fashion Awards at the Long Center.
