Rock festivals help shed light on artists during SXSW
The Texas Rock Fest and Shamrock Fest have been around for more than a decade. It's a great opportunity for up and coming artists to be seen during the South by Southwest Music Festival.

Organizers say it's their best show all year.

"There are definitely a few familiar faces every year, but lots of new, budding up and coming talent, so you're always going to see something new; and then some of the standards, like us," One Eyed Doll's Kimberley Freeman said.

One Eyed Doll will be releasing their new album during the Rock Fest show Saturday.

For other bands like, Agony Column it's the first time they've played in 10 years.

"I'm a little nervous, but it should be a lot of fun. It's basically a time for me to have fun. So, it's such an international thing at this point, SXSW, and Rock Fest is smack dab in the middle of it all," Agony Column's Richie Turner said.

You can also expect to see George Lynch and Ya Yo along with many other artists.

"It's all about the love of the music. These guys don't make money on it. They don't charge anybody to come in," Freeman said.

Shamrock Fest is Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The Texas Rock Fest is coming up on Thursday through Sunday. Both events will be at Seventh Street and Neches Street.
