Local animal shelters reduce feline adoption fees

It is a full house at the Austin Humane Society.
The Austin Humane Society Executive Director said they have more cats than ever before. The organization is reducing their cat adoption fees to try to find the animals loving homes.
The Humane Society has more than 170 cats for adoption and another 161 in foster care. That number includes cats that have been transferred from the Town Lake Animal Center to prevent euthanization.
Both shelters have lowered their cat and kitten adoption fees to $35. You can adopt two cats for $55.
The fees include microchipping, spaying or neutering and up-to-date vaccinations.
