Austin is going classical with guitars.
World famous performers will be in town this week performing at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. The event is touted as Austin's greatest collaborative classical music festival by participating musicians.
Over 60 events span over six days. Dr. Isaac Bustos said every square inch of the Long Center will be taken over by guitars.
"I think we have a lot of variety this year. We also have the legendary guitarist Pepe Romero coming into town, and he's not only playing one concert, he's playing two concerts," Bustos said.
In addition to concerts, there will be daily classes, workshops and a vendor fair with everything guitar-related.
The festival kicks off Tuesday and runs through Sunday.
For tickets, call the Long Center at (512) 474-LONG or log on to the Austin Goes Classical website.
