An event is on its way that celebrates the booming businesses of Austin, both small and large.

The Greater Austin Business Awards, set for Aug. 31, highlights the innovative companies that shape the city of Austin every year.
Bobby Jenkins, chairman of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, said the awards are the “premier business event for Central Texas.”
About 300 businesses were nominated in 2010, and Jenkins hopes to top that number this year.
