The Cross County Water Supply Corporation (CCWSC) Water Transmission Pipeline Project is now open.

Thursday, officials cut the ceremonial ribbon for a new pipeline set to bring more water to Eastern Travis County.

The 53-mile pipeline transports groundwater pumped from the Simsboro Aquifer in Burleson County to Manor and provides a new supply for residents and businesses of the area.

“We’re very excited about completing the water supply pipeline project,” CCWSC President Patrick Reilly said. “Because of this summer’s devastating drought, the benefit to the local community for bringing a reliable, high quality water source to Eastern Travis County is obvious.”

Travis County Commissioner Ron Davis approved the project back in 2009. The pipeline is expected to provide 18 million gallons of water per day.
