Update -- The bomb threat has been canceled, and all buildings and roads have reopened.
Earlier --Three buildings on the Texas State University campus in San Marcos have been evacuated due to a bomb threat, according to school officials.
The first alert came to students around 9:40 a.m., which said there had been a threat to the admissions building and asked students to evacuate and avoid the area.
Students were then notified at 10:05 a.m. the evacuation area was extended to the San Jacinto and Tower residence halls.
According to university officials, the threat came to a "Houston-area admissions counselor" who works from home.
The Austin Police Department is sending a bomb squad to help authorities in San Marcos investigate the threat. The FBI is also on scene.
