"They are fun, they're interactive as people say, the neighbors love them. They're adopted by the neighborhood," neighborhood resident Travis Hall said. "Little kids love them. They can ride on them, they'd hug them, they talk to them."

Travis Hall and other neighbors took to decorating the pigs for the holidays, and even the swine flu.

“I come by one day and all the pigs have masks on," he said.

Neighbor Susan Long was one of the first to notice the piglet had disappeared. She said the pig was there Tuesday morning, but by Thursday at the same time, it was gone.

"This is vandalism and we really, really don’t like it. We want our pig back," she said.

Police have few clues, but they hope someone will ‘squeal.’

"We would very much like for somebody to call in and give us some information on where we can locate the pig," Christopher Wilcox with the Temple Police Department said.

Wilcox say the perpetrator who pulled the pork from the park could be facing time in the pen—up to two years in county jail.

Friends of the pigs offer a reward for the safe return of the little ham.

"We can't say what we're going to do to the people, but it will be serious," Long said.

However, if the piglet is gone for good, they have a plan. There is already a replacement on order.

Police say they have alerted local scrap yards and metal dealers to be on the lookout for the pig.

Oak Creek Park residents have offered a cash reward for its safe return.
