Some well-established local restaurateurs are bringing new culinary life to what used to be Romeo’s on Barton Springs Road.

Austin Business Journal Editor Colin Pope said Mark Turner and Rick Engel, the brains behind staples like Uncle Billy’s, Austin Java and Little Woodrow’s, is keeping with the Italian theme and opening Umami Mia pizzeria.

The two restaurant experts say Austin needs more pizza places. They also plan to open another Austin Java and Little Woodrow’s, investments which will create about 100 new jobs in the market place.
