Austin Business Journal Editor Colin Pope said the nonprofit, Chestnut Neighborhood Revitalization Corp., has launched a $5 million project to bring new shops and condominiums to the 13th and Chicon area. The city has even pitched in $2 million to help their efforts.
Historically, the area hasn’t had the best reputation in town, but neighborhood groups are hoping to revitalize East Austin in positive way.
