President Barack Obama is headed to Austin July 17, and there is no denying the excitement among supporters who want to see him up close.
However, getting to see the man in charge will cost you a pretty penny.
A cool $250 will get you in the door at the president’s campaign fundraiser at the Austin Music Hall. Quadruple that amount puts you in a preferred seating area, to get a better view of the commander-in-chief.
For $5,000 you can get into a reception and have your picture taken with the president. Make it $7,500 and a friend can join you in that photo.
“I think the point of this is obviously to raise money for his campaign on a national scale,” Travis County Democratic Party Chair Andy Brown said. “The cost of campaigning these days is ridiculous.”
The president will be attending two fundraisers in San Antonio the same day he is in Austin.
