Capital Tonight: National conventions, and Isaac, approach
In just a few days, thousands of delegates, party supporters and members of the media, including our political team, will descend on Tampa for the Republican National Convention. It's a big production put on for a national audience, but this time around there are plenty of reasons for Texans to watch closely.
U.S. Senate Republican nominee Ted Cruz and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro will join the likes of Barbara Jordan and Ann Richards in the next couple of weeks, by speaking at their respective party's national conventions. This week, we traveled to Dallas to talk to another Texan from a Latino background who has been in Cruz and Castro's shoes. Victor Morales forced his way onto the DNC stage 16 years ago, to give an exhilarating 3 minute speech.
