President Barack Obama is set to deliver the State of the Union Tuesday evening.
The speech is expected to focus heavily on the economy and job creation. The president is also expected to address the nation's current debate on gun violence.
Some members of the audience will be Americans that had an experience with gun violence. The state of the union should show what the president wants to accomplish in his second term.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio will give this year's GOP response immediately following the State of the Union.
The Republicans are expected to cast the president's second term as more big government. During Rubio's speech, he is expected to touch on job creation for the middle class and taming the federal debt.
He says Republicans “Don't just want to be the opposition. We want to be the alternative.''
Rubio will deliver his address in both English and Spanish.
