Everyone is born with a different set of challenges.

For 3-year-old Christian, his challenges came in the form of Chronic Lung Disease and pulmonary hypertension. His diagnosis means he needs round-the-clock monitoring and attention.

One look around his nursery and it’s difficult not to notice the medical machinery. But once your eyes are set on the smiley 3-year-old, any fear you may have melts away.

"It’s been an exciting time here these last couple of months,” Christian’s case worker Jeannete Rico said. “He just started crawling, which is huge for him."

Christian is not expected to walk for a little while longer, but it will come.

"I think when he's able to walk, he'll take off running,” Rico said. “It's a slow process but with physical and occupational therapy that they're working with him on, he'll be able to do that."

Christian's therapy and most of his medical expenses are taken care of, so it's something his adoptive family won't have to worry about. He still needs a place he can grow up in and a family he'll belong to forever.

"Christian is like any other boy, he needs love and nurturing so he can thrive and develop. He needs a home," his case worker said.
