Each week on “Forever Families,” YNN introduces a foster child waiting for a forever family. Many times, the stories help lead to the featured children’s adoption.
That was the case for 15-year-old Daniel Cuttill.
Daniel was actually featured two times on “Forever Families,” first in 2010 when he went ice skating for the first time and later in 2011 where he showcased his guitar playing.
"We saw his ‘Forever Families’ video and we were like 'Oh my gosh, this is it, this is our son,’" Laura Cuttill said.
"At first, I had doubts,” Daniel said. “I didn't know how it was going to work out, but that was me worrying about something I had no control over so I was happy and was going to let it work out."
The Cuttills set up a meeting time, where they all hit it off. Then after going through all of the steps, a little quicker than normal, they sealed the deal at an adoption ceremony.
"There's no more paperwork, no more case workers," Laura said.
It wasn't long at all before Daniel found his groove in his new home.
"It just feels like I've always been here,” the 15-year-old said. “It would have been cool if I was here from birth, but it's like I can be."
The Cuttills said they had always wanted a big family and felt they could do that through adoption.
Daniel is happy to now be the second oldest of five kids.
