TerraBlue, 14, is sure that once a family takes the time to get to know her, they'll see how easily she can fit into their family.

"People called me Tara, people never called me Blue until one of my friends called me that, and now people call me Blue and I like it," she said.

Her nickname may be Blue, but that far from describes her personality. TerraBlue is spunky, outgoing, and loves to stay busy.

"I like being in ROTC, I like competing,” she said “I'm the win-win-win person, I don't like losing."

But what she wants more than anything is a family behind her during her wins.

"If I'm going to a game and I'm playing or competing for something, they stand up and clap for me," TerraBlue said.

Blue likes to draw and paint. While decorating a plate at The Art Garage, she poured her heart out about why she wants to be adopted.

"What a child needs is nourishment, love, caring support, and stuff like that, and discipline of course,” she said. “But I don't get that in my foster home."

She says school and her friends there are like a home away from home, but she only lets very few friends know she's in foster care.

"Some people feel sorry for me and I just don't want people to do that, so I pretty much keep it a secret," she said. "You feel lonely, and you get jealous for the kids when you see them with their parents."

At 14, Blue says she sometimes worries she's too old for a family to want to adopt her, but she still has hope.

"I'd like a mom and dad,” she said. “I'd like some brothers and sister, but if you can't do that it's ok."

She's ready to join a family of her own, love them as her own, and get that love in return.

"I've moved on with my life and I'm focusing on my future now, and the present, mainly the future though," TerraBlue said.

She loves school, and is on the A-B honor roll. When she grows up she'd like to join the military.
