Austin Street Magic Festival bows Thursday night at 6th and Red River streets. The event will feature magicians, musicians, jugglers, clowns and puppeteers, and it’s free.
The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival is also on this weekend. Some of the greatest improv groups in the country are in it, including includes an appearance by Kids in the Hall alum Kevin McDonald. If you love to laugh, don’t miss it.
Yes, Austin is a city for festivals. One of the largest, the Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, starts next Tuesday. The event started out as a four-day presentation of short films and now screens over 150 films depicting issues across race, cultures, gender, and religion. It combines community outreach and education with entertainment.
