Brace yourself for what looks like sub-par selection of new movies. Going into Thursday, none of weekend's three major releases were shown to film critics which makes
it hard to tell which January buried movie will be the worst.
Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton aim to snuff out witches in a modernized take on a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez drive a vengeful action-thriller and 12 directors pile on for one outrageous comedy.
Austin also gets some decent art house films including an Oscar nominee for best picture and a pleasant directorial effort from Dustin Hoffman. Otherwise, this rundown might not be a pretty sight.
Wide releases:
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (R)
Movie 43 (R)
Parker (R)
Limited releases:
Amour (PG-13)
Quartet (PG-13)
