Dozens of teens rocked out for a chance to play a live gig at Antone's in Downtown Austin.
The final auditions for Jamfest were held at Westlake High School Saturday. The event showcases musicians under the age of 21, and also raises money to help pay teacher salaries in the Eanes Independent School District.
"This is all about educating the kids musically, giving them the support they need,” James Mays, Jamfest producer, said. "Austin is the flagship in teen music. We're on the cutting edge of helping teens starting bands,” Mays said.
The event will be held Saturday January 28th at Antone's in Downtown Austin.
