Future of Austin Music Hall in jeopardy
The future of the Austin Music Hall is in doubt.
Houston-based OmniBank is looking to hire a new management and operations team after buying the foreclosed venue at an auction earlier this month for $6.3 million.
Omni financed the music hall's previous $5 million facelift in 2007 before foreclosing on the previous owners, Direct Events of Austin.
Bank officials say the existing bookings at the venue will be honored, although some acts have already moved their concerts elsewhere.
OmniBank has been contacted about selling the Austin Music Hall, but officials say nothing has come of those talks yet.
