Charlie Mars is originally from Mississippi, but he may as well be an Austinite.
The musician just wrapped up the recording his second Austin album, Blackberry Light. He said he comes to Austin for everything the city has to offer.
“Great studio, best players that I know of on the planet,” Mars said. “And you get to hang out in the whole time that you’re doing it.”
The singer-songwriter played to a huge crowd at Blues on the Green and more intimate shows in town this year.
Blackberry Light will be released on Sept. 7.
