When BoDeans was signed to a major label in the late 80s, the group was coaxed into making music for the radio. With this newest album, the band fought to get back to their roots.
"There's a lot of guitars and simple song-writing but there's fiddle and banjo, mandolin and accordion on the record as well," BoDeans frontman Kurt Neumann said. "It just kind of embraced that American sound."
At the core, BoDeans aims to make universal pop music. Neumann said he wants people to be able to sing along with his songs because that's what music is about.
"American Made" is the latest BoDeans record and is on sale now.
