Rumblings at the Capitol indicate some people want education benefits for veterans reduced.
The Hazelwood Act has helped qualified members of the military attend college since World War I. But with an increase in enrollment numbers, many universities say the program is overwhelming their bottom line. The Senate veteran affairs committee heard testimony about the program Wednesday.

Studying the sonogram law
A controversial abortion law passed last session is being challenged. Rep. Jessica Farrar says she plans to file a bill to repeal part of House Bill 15, better known as the sonogram law.
The law requires doctors to perform a sonogram and describe it to the patient 24 hours before an abortion. Farrar says her bill would remove that waiting period. At a press conference Wednesday, Farrar also introduced two people behind a study looking into the effects of the 2011 law.
