As Formula One races toward Austin, Central Texas leaders are ironing out their action plan.
Friday, officials from all over the region met to go over their transit proposal, much of which is already available for public view.
Local law enforcement also plans to have all hands on deck, with more than 200 officers on site during the U.S. Grand Prix.
Michael Hemby with the Travis County Sheriff's Office says F1 impact already stretches at least a 100 miles south.
"They are encountering the same thing that we are. Many San Antonio hotels are already booked,” Hemby said. “They also have some other things going on during that time frame."
Which is why planners hope to have State Highway 130 finished as far south as Seguin by mid-November. Shuttles will take McAngus Road into the track, and then will return to State Highway 130 using Elroy Road.
Limousines and other permitted vehicles will enter Circuit of the Americas from FM 812.
The goal is to divert as much race traffic as possible off Interstate-35.
More than 500 buses will be used to get at least 72,000 fans to and from Circuit of the Americas track.
Another 17,000 cars and limousines will be allowed to park at the track, but Austin Transportation Assistant Director Gary Schatz says they can't leave until the race is over.
"Only the shuttle buses circulate. That's how we minimize all the congestion, all the delay, all the turbulence that we have on the limited amount of roadway we do have out there," he said.
Cameras across the region will monitor bottlenecks and safety risks.
One aspect that can't be planned this far out is how many aircraft to expect.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport's Jim Halbrook says pilots only have to notify the airport of their intentions 30 days out.
"The capacity of the airfield is more dictated by the size, the types and when they show up,” he said. “We know that some will show up and leave; we know that some are going to want to show up and stay."
Race day is Nov. 18.
