City of Austin vows to be proactive with Texas Relays
The City of Austin is trying to be proactive and heal wounds from the recent Texas Relays event.
Highland Mall closed that weekend because of security concerns and that action created some controversy among African-Americans.
Thursday, the Austin City Council approved a working group to better plan for future Texas Relays.
The group is made up of city staff, University of Texas athletics and TxDOT.
Texas Relays is a track and field event that's held every April at UT.
