Changes in store for Austin transportation
Robert Spillar
The Austin Transportation Department has spelled out its prioritization process for a $100 million bond.
The Austin City Council approved a special committee's recommendations Thursday for the methodology and criteria that will be used to rank projects.
The city has been accepting public input on transportation needs since October.
So far, it has received about 2,000 responses from the community.
Robert Spiller is the Director of the Austin Transportation Department.
"A lot of these gaps we already knew about. A lot of them are already on neighborhood plans or existing long-term plans that we already have, and so a lot of it was a validation of the issues that we have," he said.
Now that a prioritization process is in place, the committee can begin to evaluate those projects.
They'll continue to accept public input and submit recommendations through the process.
