The Bratt Brothers made their final stop in the tour of Austin theaters Friday night.
The held a special screening of their movie “La Mission” at Dobie Theatre.
“The Mission was somewhat of our backyard. We’re native San Franciscans, and as children of the 60s and 70s it was very much of a cultural melting pot,” Benjamin Bratt said. “But The Mission’s heart and soul is a Latino neighborhood.”
According to Benjamin Bratt, the film examines some emotional terrain, but their goal was to capture both sides of it. They try to balance out the conflict with humor.
Brother, Peter Bratt, said they’ve always wanted to make a film like this.
“It’s always been a long time dream of ours to make a film in The Mission and this is that dream realized,” Peter Bratt said.
