Sewage continues to spill in Williamson Creek
More than 100,000 gallons of wastewater was discharged into Williamson Creek Tuesday afternoon.
According to City of Austin officials, a ruptured 10-inch sewer main near the 4900 block of Manchaca Road is causing the sewage discharge.
Officials say drinking water in the area has not been affected, but residents and pets should avoid the area until further notice.
Crews are still at the scene working to repair the main. Officials with the Austin Water Utility do not suspect foul play was involved in the incident.
