Welcome to the Austin Arts Minute. Here’s the inside scoop on what’s hot this week in the arts, and this week it’s festivals.
Pro Arts brings BAM. It’s their stellar Black Art Movement Festival with amazing artists from across the country. Catch BAM’s Delta Rhapsody at the Off Center. You can also catch the Wood and Strings Puppet Theatre at the Boyd Vance Theatre.
Tapestry Dance celebrates its 10th annual Soul to Sole Festival with some of the nation’s finest dancers. Look for workshops and specials all weekend at the Long Center.
Another treat is the Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s big summer production. This year it’s The Yeomen of the Guard. Ralph McPhail returns to direct what many say is Gilbert and Sullivan’s finest collaboration.
If you want more, catch Pink Martini with the Austin Symphony at the Palmer Events Center and The Wizard of Oz at the Bass Concert Hall.
