Saturday morning, art for a new east to west bicycle route was dedicated in Austin.

Area cyclists will now be able to take a tour of yellow across Austin as part of the new Lance Armstrong Bikeway (LAB).

“There’s actually 27 pieces of art that were commissioned through the Art in Public Places program and what’s interesting about that is there are four different categories of artwork,” Art in Public Places Spokesperson Meghan Turner said.

She said the four categories include:

• Benches
• LED lights
• Custom painted gradient along the route
• Sculptural tunnels

The Lance Armstrong Bikeway runs six miles east and west in Downtown Austin.

It goes from U.S. 183 in East Austin, through downtown and ends at Lake Austin Boulevard and Veterans Drive.
