It's America's third largest party and
Libertarians will tell you it's one of the fastest growing.
On Saturday Texas Libertarians met in Austin for their state convention.
“The main order of the day is to nominate a candidate for governor and other statewide offices. We’re also going to be nominating people for our internal positions and adopting rules,” Texas Libertarian Party spokesperson Robert Butler said.
He said they have five candidates who want to run for governor this year.
“There’s a lot of excitement in the electorate. We just saw a poll the other day that said 9 percent of the population is not going to vote for Rick Perry or for Bill White. So we feel like we have a good chance there to step in,” Butler said.
At least 200 people attended the conference.
