Attorneys for the state Democratic Party headed to court in a dispute over whether candidates from the Green Party can be on the Texas ballot.

A hearing was scheduled Thursday morning in state district court in Austin.

Democrats are seeking to block the Green Party from fielding candidates for the fall ballot in a legal battle over who paid for the gathering of petition signatures submitted earlier this year to the Texas secretary of state.

Election Day is Nov. 2.
