Passport fees set to increase Tuesday

Passport fees are going up Tuesday. The Travis County District Clerk will be open late Monday to accept last-minute applications.
To apply for passports, applicants will need:
• Proof of U.S. citizenship
• A completed passport application
• Two passport-sized photos
• Both parental signatures for children
• Adults need a government issued photo ID
Until Tuesday, applicants aged 16 and up will pay $75 for a passport book, while children 15 and younger pay $60. An additional acceptance fee of $25 must be paid to the agency processing the application.
On Tuesday, fees increase to $110 for ages 16 and up; $80 for younger applicants. These fees must be paid for by check or money order.

These amounts do not include an additional $25 processing fee paid to the U.S. Postal Service. This fee will not change Tuesday. The postal service will accept cash, credit cards, checks, or money orders.
Two passport locations in Austin will be open late Monday for travelers seeking to take advantage of the last day of lower fees.
Both will be open until 6 p.m. Monday.
