State Rep. Kino Flores was back in court Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing.
Flores faces six indictments accusing him of failing to report about $850,000 worth of income over a six-year period. The indictments cite properties Flores owned, along with plane flights that were gifted, but never disclosed on his state financial disclosure forms.
The South Texas Democrat's attorney, Roy Minton, maintains Flores did nothing wrong.
"The state takes the position that there was not proper enough information on the forms that are necessary to fill out when you hold public office, and what we are saying is that there was all of the information that was necessary and that is really what the whole lawsuit is about," Minton said.
Minton also said there is always some confusion about what is necessary to report to the government and what is not.
Flores' next court date is July 28.
