There's magic in the air in Austin this week.

Magicians from all over the globe are in town for the Texas Association of Magicians' 65th annual convention and first Austin Street Magic Festival.

"These international performers are performing in close up rooms where you can see magic up close," Texas Association of Magicians spokesperson Hull Youngblood said. "There may be 1,000 magicians in town. You’ve really got to be a part of this. It’s really going to be exciting."

The festival begins Thursday at 6 p.m. on Red River Street, next to Esther’s Follies. The Magicians' 2010 Convention begins Friday at the Sheraton Austin Hotel.
