A Waco house fire killed two children.

Police say the incident happened early Saturday morning in the 1900 block of Cleveland Street.

A total of five people, a mother and her four children, were home when the blaze started. The mother was able to escape with two of her children. Two of her other children, ages four and 11-months, did not make it out alive.

Investigators say they believe the fire started in the front bedroom of the home, where the bodies of the two children were found.

The surviving children and mother are being treated for fire related injuries at Hillcrest Hospital.

Their conditions are unknown at this time. Waco police are investigating the incident.
