A former Baylor basketball player faces federal extortion charges for trying to blackmail Heisman Trophy Winner Robert Griffin III.

Court documents don't name Griffin; but say Richard Khamir Hurd contacted a representative from a St. Louis agency and threatened to publicize derogatory information about one of their clients unless he was paid a "substantial sum."

Court documents only identify the representative as BD. Griffin's agent, Ben Dogra, is based out of St. Louis. The agent agreed to meet Hurd and pay him at a business in Waco.

An undercover FBI agent was present when the exchange happened, and Hurd was arrested a short time later.
