Power restored after widespread outage in South Austin
The power is back on after an outage in South Austin left about 2500 customers in the dark.
A spokesperson said the power went out around 6:30 p.m. in an area generally south of Ben White Boulevard, east to Manchaca Road, west to almost Brodie Lane and south to about Stassney.
Repair crews responded to the area quickly and found the cause to be an equipment failure. Power was restored by replacing a damaged cable.
It took less than 90 minutes to get the power back on.
