High-blood pressure is a very serious, and common, health condition.
One out of every three adults in America suffers from the malady and if left untreated, it can be a ticking time bomb, leading to heart disease, stroke or kidney failure.
Being able to measure blood pressure in the aorta, which is closer to the heart and brain, is important because this is where high blood pressure can cause significant damage.
Until now, that could only be measured by surgically placing a catheter or pressure sensor into the aorta, but a newly FDA-approved machine is changing that.
