In recognition of National HIV Testing Day on June 27, several places in Austin are offering free testing this week.

One in every 390 Texans is living with HIV or AIDS, making the state fourth in the nation in the number of reported cases. Health officials say it's important to regularly get tested because the years between HIV and AIDS are a crucial time for treatment and prevention of transmission.
