Austin Fit Magazine author Dr. Shannon Mitchel recently wrote an article about staying Hydrated during the heat.
Her tip for runners is, “Carry water even if it’s something you’re not used to doing. A lot of runners don’t carry water because it’s kind of a pain but in this heat, even if you’re going out for an hour, you should probably carry water with you.”
Mitchel also says it takes a couple of weeks to acclimatize to the heat so find a way to spend two hours a day to be outside, even if it’s during the evenings.
