Rosie was surrendered to the shelter because her owners were not able to afford the medical care she needed after suffering an injury to her right foot. X-rays taken at the shelter revealed that Rosie has several broken toes. She will need approximately four weeks in foster care to heal.
Her activities should be limited -- no jumping, running or rough housing with people or other pets. She can go outside a few times each day for leash walks.
Rosie should be crated when no one is available to monitor her. The Austin Animal Center can provide a crate to aid in her recovery.
If you are interested in fostering Rosie, the Austin Animal Center would love to hear from you. Their foster application is available online at www.austinanimalcenter.org.
Rosie’s ID # is A664222. She is in Kennel U1.
Open seven days from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can find the center at 7201 Levander Loop. This is at the intersection of Highway 183 and Airport Boulevard.
