Portable North PoleThe app and website “Portable North Pole” is sure to get all those little Santa-doubters out there to reconsider their stance on St. Nick.
First, the user types in some information about a child — first name, age, desired Christmas present, something the child is working on, like listening better to the teacher, and even whether the child has been naughty or nice.
The program then takes the information and then Santa delivers a personalized video greeting to the child.
“Portable North Pole” is free to check out online at PortableNorthPole.tv. There is an app version that has a bunch of other features for parents and kids. Right now, it's just available for Android devices for $2.87.
The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story
For kids who get all excited about another guy who dresses up in all red, there is “The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story.” It's the story about how Peter Parker became Spider-Man, but what makes this one particularly cool is that it's narrated by Spidey's creator, comic book legend Stan Lee.
In addition to some cool music and effects, there are a handful of mini-games throughout the story you or your child must get through in order to advance the story, like swinging through town or firing webs at a criminal.
“The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story” is an iOS app for $6.99.
