YNN’s Ed Keiner is at the Austin Auto Show this weekend talking about how to get the most out of your gallon. Here are some simple tips for increasing fuel efficiency.

1. Check your tire pressure. If you don’t know what your correct tire pressure should be, check your owner’s manual or the inside of your car door. When checking your tire pressure, make sure the temperature outside is cool. Proper tire pressure is crucial to getting good gas mileage.

2. Replace your leaky gas cap. Fuel can evaporate if your gas cap. Replacing the cap could cost anywhere from $5 - $15.

3. Make sure you have a properly maintained engine. Be sure to check your fluids and spark plugs. Also, keep up on your oil and filter changes. Maintaining your engine will help you ensure you’re getting the most out of your gas.

4. Take out any excess weight. Do you have your golf clubs in the back of your car? When you’re not heading to the course, make sure and take the excess weight out and you’ll increase your fuel efficiency.
