The Texas School for the Deaf recently unveiled green upgrades completed this spring.
The school was selected during a nationwide competition by Global Green USA. Work done at the school included upgrading the lights, decreasing the amount of water usage by installing a water-filtration system and automatic faucets that replaced the manual faucets, and hand blow dryers to help eliminate paper waste.
In the video above, TSD Superintendent Claire Bugen explained how Pureology selected TSD to get the makeovers. Conner Miers, a 10th-grade student, talks about four of the changes that were a part of the makeover.
More information on how schools can make similar changes is available at GlobalGreen.org.
