Last week, YNN’s Jennifer Borget introduced us to
the Cavaliero family. They lost their daughter Sophia last May when they forgot to drop her off at daycare and accidentally left her in the car for three hours on a 90 degree day.
It’s a tragedy they say could’ve been avoided had the daycare called to alert them of their daughter’s absence. As a result of Sophia’s death, the Cavaliero’s created Ray Ray’s Pledge in honor of her nickname “Ray Ray.”
The pledge commits parents to calling the daycare teacher if their child is going to be late or absent and commits the daycare teacher to call a child’s parents if they have not arrived by his or her usual time.
In this edition of Growing Up Texas, Ray Ray’s Pledge Founder Kristie Cavaliero introduces us to some car seat alarm systems to help parents be aware of when their child is left in a car.
Some are weight based receivers and others are distance based transmitters. The products are developed by Suddenly Safe ‘N’ Secure Systems Inc.
